About Belly Binding
Belly binding is an ancient postpartum practice that honors and supports the healing body after birth. A long cotton wrap is gently and securely tied from the hips to the ribs, offering abdominal and postural support as your body recovers.
Each session begins with a light lymphatic massage to encourage circulation, reduce swelling, and prepare your body for the wrap. Once applied, the wrap helps stabilize the core, support the spine, and gently guide the organs and uterus back toward their pre-pregnancy positions.
Beyond the physical benefits, many mothers find that belly binding provides a comforting sense of grounding, self-care, and connection to the traditional wisdom of postpartum healing.

Vaginal births: Belly binding can typically begin within the first week postpartum, ideally before day 5.
Cesarean births: It’s best to wait until your incision is mostly healed and your healthcare provider gives the okay which is usually between 3–6 weeks postpartum.
-
Wear the wrap for 8–12 hours per day, removing it for rest, sleep, and movement as needed.
Continue for 6–8 weeks postpartum, or as long as it feels supportive.
After that period, discontinue regular use to allow your abdominal muscles to rebuild their natural strength.
Remember to always listen to your body; belly binding should feel supportive, not restrictive. Find a natural balance between external support and rebuilding your own inner strength.
